Fernando "Nito" Brea began his padel career in 1986 as an amateur, turning professional in 1989. For eight years, he and his partner consistently ranked between 8th and 13th in the PPA (Professional Padel Association). In 1991, he expanded his reach by traveling to Spain, competing in the Beefeater and JB tournaments, and leading clinics and exhibitions in Madrid, Marbella, and Bilbao, notably finishing as runner-up with Facundo Mazzuchi at the European Mortgage Service Cup in Sierra Country Club, Marbella. The following year, in August 1992, he secured the Movicom Cup on the Seven Up Uruguayan Professional Circuit in Montevideo.
In 1993, he was a finalist at the International Championship in Itaparica, Brazil. By 1995, Nito, paired with Gabriel Reca, became champions of a PPA Satellite Padel Tournament, and he also won a phase of the PPA Challenger Tour with Jaime Urrutia. The next year, he reached the final of the PPA Challenger Tour with Marcelo "Masa" Pérez.
His extensive career includes participating in two world championships, playing for seven years with Julio Nigrelli, two years with Gabriel Reca, and partnering with various other players like Martin Echegaray, Maximiliano Gabriel, Marcelo Pérez, and Jaime Urrutia. In 2024, Nito achieved a significant milestone by becoming a world champion with the Argentine team at the Senior World Championship in La Nucia, Spain, marking his first time as a player for the Argentine national team, coached by Gaby Reca and Rodrigo Ovide, alongside teammates Hernán Auguste, Christian Gutiérrez, Alejandro “Pollo” Novillo, Gabriel Domínguez, Emilio Cervasi, Gastón Malacalza, Ramiro Nanni, Enrique Cataldo, Lucas Bracchi, Agustín Gómez Silingo, Daniel Sandoval, and Fernando Poggi.
